This retreat is a profound spiritual practice that combines fasting, isolation in nature, and a deep connection with the sacred.

Why embark on a Vision Quest?

✔ Deep reconnection with yourself and nature.

✔ Spiritual renewal and personal strengthening.

The Vision Quest merges with a Hikuri Ceremony the day before.

PREPARATION FOR THE HANBLECEYA RETREAT

Preparation is essential for a meaningful experience.

What you need for the Vision Quest:

📿 Prayers & 7 Sticks:
🔹 Prepare 405 small tobacco ties, each representing a personal intention.
🔹 They must be tied onto a string and ready one day before the retreat.
🔹 Gather 7 wooden sticks or pieces of firewood.
🔹 Contact us to learn how to make them (this requires months of preparation).

👕 Appropriate clothing:
🔹 Full outfit for both cold and warm weather.
🔹 Underwear.
🔹 Women: Only long skirts.
🔹 Not allowed: Hats, raincoats.
🔹 A small backpack for your essentials.

🛌 Rest & Protection:
🔹 Sleeping bag or thick blanket.
🔹 Mat or ground insulation pad.

🧼 Personal hygiene items:
🔹 Toilet paper and a plastic bag.
🔹 Women: Menstrual products.

🏕 Tent (left in the base camp)
🔹 To store your belongings during the retreat.

🔥 Clothing for the Temazcal (sweat lodge):
🔹 Men: Swim shorts, towel, change of clothes.
🔹 Women: A non-revealing dress or skirt & blouse. No swimsuits.
🔹 Headscarf, towel, and change of clothes.

🔦 Torch (for the base camp only, not for the Vision Quest).

🚫 Items NOT allowed during the Vision Quest:
🚫 Musical instruments
🚫 Books, notebooks, electronic devices
🚫 Torches, candles, incense, cigarettes
🚫 Mattresses or thick mats

The Vision Quest is a deep introspective retreat. Leaving behind distractions will allow you to receive the teachings and visions that nature and spirit have in store for you.

PREPARATION FOR THE HIKURI CEREMONY

🍃 Pre-ceremony diet:
🔹 Starting now, avoid:
Smoked foods, sweets, coffee, chocolate, alcohol, and other entheogens.

👗 Ceremonial clothing:
🔹 Women: Only long skirts or dresses (no sarongs or short skirts).
🔹 We dress with respect and beauty to present ourselves to the spirit of Hikuri.

🎶 Learning Hikuri songs:
🔹 You are welcome to sing during the ceremony.
🔹 Attend rehearsals to learn the appropriate songs.

🪶 What to bring for sitting in the ceremony:
🔹 A large cushion.
🔹 A blanket to keep warm.
🔹 A small cloth or mat for the ground.

🚫 Not allowed during the ceremony:
🚫 Smoking
🚫 Leaving the ceremony
🚫 Using other substances
🚫 Bringing water bottles or other objects into the ceremonial circle

PREPARATION FOR SUPPORT ROLES AT THE CAMP

👕 Appropriate clothing:
🔹 Clothing for all four days (for both cold and warm weather). Hat, etc.
🔹 Tap water in 8-litre containers to have a shower– bring as much as you can.
🔹 Women: Long skirts only at all times. Trousers are not permitted under any circumstances.
🔹 Bring your own personal snacks.
🔹 Drinking water.

🛌 Rest and protection:
🔹 Bring your Tent (not provided).
🔹 Sleeping bag or thick blanket.
🔹 Sleeping mat or ground insulation.

🧼 Personal hygiene items:
🔹 Shower: There is currently no running water. Washing is done using a bucket.

🔥 Clothing for the Temazcal (sweat lodge) ceremony:
🔹 Men: Beach shorts, towel, change of clothes.
🔹 Women: A dress with no low neckline, or a skirt and blouse. No swimsuits.
🔹 Headscarf, towel, change of clothes.

🎶 Other items to bring:
🔹 Musical instruments.
🔹 A mat or cushion to sit on during fire-keeping shifts.
🔦 Torch (for use at the camp).

🚫 Items NOT permitted:
🚫 Incense or candles that could cause a fire hazard.
🚫 Alcohol.
🚫 Drugs.

Support roles also involve a deep introspective retreat. Letting go of distractions will allow you to receive the teachings and visions that nature and spirit have in store for you.

A complete detox from mobile phones, social media, WhatsApp, and tv….etc.

SUPPORT ROLES

The role of support is highly important, including:


✔ Assisting in the kitchen (cooking, washing up, cleaning toilets).
✔ Keeping watch over the ceremonial fire at night.
✔ Acting as fire-keeper for the Temazcal.
✔ Gathering and chopping firewood, cleaning up, and other essential tasks.
✔ Supporting Esther T. Siverio.

During free time, we will also enjoy sharing conversations and sacred medicines.

  • Hanbleceya Retreat (in loneliness in the Mountains): €250

  • Single Temazcal Session (During the Retreat): €50

  • One-Day Stay as a supporter (Includes 2 Meals & 1 Temazcal): €100
