Rites of Passage
The Practice by shamans to establish a connection with his invisible allies to heal the sick person.
An example what Shamanism is about can be explained with this short explanation. But it is only one of so many concepts that covers what a shaman does and is.
Shamanism was born from the ability of our ancestors to understand and feel energies, their states, dimensions, capacities. Their skills to see without having scientific knowledge about creation. And the enormous bond and connection they had with nature. Generated by the places where they lived or the places they considered sacred. Fueled by the awareness that everything has life, everything has energy, there is magic and it is accessible when you know how to deal with it for healing purposes or for abundance of the whole community.
Shamanism is the oldest and most widespread healing system on the planet. Archaeological and ethnological evidences seem to indicate that shamanic methods were used as early as 30,000 years ago and we believe even more. As it is the case at the site in Israel where it was verified that they performed rituals 20.000 years ago by a shaman, a medicine woman that was highly respected and received all the honors upon her death.
In this case you can see shamanic practices with natural elements and cult around this shaman woman. She was buried separately from the rest, with evidence of having a celebration in her honor. Inside her grave, she was surrounded by more than 71 tortoise shells, buffalo bones, the bone of a golden eagle wing, two marten skulls, the pelvis of a leopard, and a human foot. To raise her status, the shells and other things were strategically placed on her grave. A tortoise shell was placed under the woman's head, with the rest of the shells arranged under her pelvis and around her body.
These techniques have been preserved and passed between people and from generation to generation. Our predecessors learned these methods to maintain the balance in the health of crops, meteorological events, death, marriages, initiations, war decisions ... etc.
And despite the separation of people and countries there is much similarity, and with the same concerns. They include aborigines from Australia, Africa, America, Siberia, Asia and Europe that our grandparents applied these rites in the daily life. We cannot separate our original routes connected with these Ancestral Rituals that healed us profoundly.
